Giving Back
FCB has awarded dozens of Coastal Bend organizations and charities through the bank's Others 1st project, which is designed to recognize and reward those helping Coastal Bend communities. Our employees nominate local organizations each year for consideration in this project.
In 2023, First Community Bank celebrated its 40th anniversary by launching a "40 Weeks of Giving" program. The program's objective was to donate over $40,000 to local community organizations dedicated to giving back to our communities.
In 2024, FCB was awarded a Texas Bankers Foundation's Cornerstone Award for its “40 Weeks of Giving” program. The Texas Bankers Foundation is a charitable arm of the Texas Bankers Association, and it recognizes and rewards Texas banks that have made a commitment to be the cornerstones of their communities.
Volunteerism
FCB employees volunteer at multiple functions throughout the year. Anywhere from assorting items at food banks, making warm meals for shelters, to participating in walks to raise awareness. In 2023, our employees donated more than 150 hours to community events.
Community Partnerships
Community is in our name — that's why First Community Bank is dedicated to supporting local events that need additional funding to bring their event to life. Whether it's from sponsoring ad space, a banner, or being an event sponsor, we're proud to support the community we call home.
Coin for Change
Those who would like to help can do so each time they cash a check using the live teller function of our Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs). Just like a traditional ATM, our ITMs do not accept, or dispense coins, but you can still cash a check with an ITM teller during bank hours by opting to donate any “cents” portion of your check to our “Coin for Change” program. All donations will benefit recipients through our Others 1st Project.
