Beware of Phone Scams
Scammers are finding new ways every day to try to take your money or steal your identity. One of the latest schemes involves a phone call from a scammer impersonating a bank employee. They falsely claim there's fraud happening on your debit card and will overnight a new card.
We want to assure you that these calls are not from First Community Bank. They are scams. It is important to keep in mind the following information to protect yourself:
- First Community Bank will never call you and ask for your Online Banking User ID or password.
- We will not call you and ask for your debit card number or PIN.
- We will not send you text messages asking for personal/ banking information.
If you receive a call that you are unsure of, please ask for the name of the person you are speaking with, hang up and call us at (361) 888-9310 to verify the call.
If you notice any unusual “Debit / ATM Card” activity, we encourage you to call (361) 888-3777 which will direct you to our Fraud Center. (If you are calling after hours, select ‘Option 2.’)
Remember, scammers are always trying to get their hands on your financial information. Don’t become a victim of a scam.
